Who am I?
JIM BENOIT, a twenty-two year old native of Niskayuna, New York, performs professionally throughout the United States as both a classical, jazz, and contemporary percussionist. While an undergraduate at the Berklee College of Music, Jim performed with a multitude of different ensembles, ranging from Timpani and Percussion in orchestras such as the Albany Symphony, to vibraphone and mallet percussion in both Phil Wilson’s internationally acclaimed Rainbow Band, and The WAITIKI 7. In 2008, he was a percussionist with the Music Academy of the West (Santa Barbara, CA), and has been a past performer at other prestigious music festivals including the Aspen Music Festival and Eastern Music Festival. Other honors include receiving honorable mention for his performing abilities by both the Zildjian and Yamaha Cooperations, and performing on the PBS National Radio Broadcast, ”From the Top”.
